Prosperman....you don't seem to know much about negotiating. You need to think a bit deeper about this situation and understand that Trump made another silly knee jerk decision and pulled out of the agreed deal. He is now making muffled grunting noises that he wants back in. The deal has since been done by all remaining nations, excluding Trump, which will be happily signed off on in march. Japan is saying it has no interest in any new negotiations which have taken 6 years to complete. So either Trumpet joins under the terms of the previous agreement (and looks silly), or he walks away a loser (and looks silly) with no agreement .
Either way he's eroded away any position of negotiating power which Obama enjoyed. The US may be temporarily the biggest economy but if the deal doesn't suit Japan, Canada, Oz and all the others then it's goodbye Trumpet.
