You make some very good points...particularly re the Aussie batting re youngsters and the bowling depth in Aussie cricket.

I am a keen follower this season due to the Supercoach online competition.

Sure theres a few older bowlers who are very good but probably not good enough for higher honours 'now'

Gillespie an obvious one. Kaspa too. Denton perhaps.

But there are a number that may be 'serviceable'

Magoffin is an interesting one. Bollinger continues to do well.

Re the bats, there is Cosgrove but he has disappointed and the mid 20's brigade as you point out really are not doing that much.

    Shaun Marsh showing some potential.

Back to India, their biggest problem..and it is a big one, is that their Fab 4 are close to retirement.

Just how do you replace these guys?

You dont. Tendulkar and Dravid inparticular are run machines.

I like teams going for at least 5 quality bowling options these days as most teams batting , particularly lower middle order has improved.

Personally i'm looking forward to more evn contests because frankly i'm bl''dy tired of Aussies winning all the time in under 4 days.

PS God help us re 20/20.

Lets just hope that Test cricket is kept healthy and important.
