Thanks Volt but from what you said there has never been 14 days without a bounce - hence my interpretation that going down much more this week was unlikely.

I am learning here but my mid-caps can get mauled (randomly) by the index trades so I have taken an increased interest in the indexes themselves. Mauling oil producers when the POO retreats from record highs to extremely high is particularly galling. It is easier to move in or out of an index than a significant position in a mid cap.
