You forgot to mention who Ed Miliband the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change in the previous govt and now leader of Her Majesty's opposition , appointed to decide energy policy :-
A 35 years old English Literature student by the name of Bryony Worthington who's previous job had been a climate change campaigner for Friends of the Earth .
After she had drafted the 2008 Climate Change bill for him , "Red" Ed rewarded her by awarding her a life peerage so she can sit in the House of Lords (an institution he ideologically disagrees with the existence of) and the title Baroness Worthington .
Look at Tony Abbott and Bill Clinton . They both did that awful PPE course at Oxford University which seems to be a fast track to the corridors of power - same as David Cameron and Ed Miliband . It's so incestuous .
Contrast it with Germany where engineers are revered and Angela Merkel was a quantum chemist .
