Thanks for sharing the story Katy I remember 2 and a half years ago when your property was up for sale you posted the online listing for your home it was absolutely amazing and well deserved of awards
In my case I sold my Surfers unit when the council rates were reasonable got the price I wanted and used that money as capital for share trading while renting in Helensvale Unfortunately the landlord kept increasing the rent (3 times in 4 years) and I got fed up with the intrusion by property inspectors every quarter
Decided to move away from the GC Currently live in a purchased home in Regional Queensland the council and water rates are 5k a year
Nothing in our local paper about rate arrears YET but then the disfunctional useless GC council has more councillors willing to leak information like this than normal
