P.S., That farce of a poll put aside, it doesn't look great for Labor does it? I'm not sure whether we should celebrate or cry about the fact that Rudd will start campaigning for Julia now. I think we are damned whether he is in the campaign or not; his presence probably won't get us any more votes than it loses us.
I have a feeling that one of the first things Julia should have done was to renounce entirely the resources tax. That was never a popular initiative, and I think its presence only serves to move the conservative/moderate votes away from Labor. It's too late now to do anything about it. She can't back off from it at this point without looking two-faced.
