the bible and especially the new testament undermines the culture of slavery from within. Onesimus the slave was the beginning of the end. The time taken may have been 1800 years but the seeds were sown in the letter to Philemon. The timeline of man is brief compared to the timeline of the Creator.

The slave trade in realtive modern times was finally brought undone by the tireless work of a british Christian evangelical William Wilberforce.

The story is truly amazing as the British had much to gain from dominating the trade in humans. This started by a group of 12 with 6 of them being quakers, they found their champion in Wilberforce in parliament.

Likewise the american civil war was a huge blood fest but today many african americans are christians even though their lineage can be traced back to the slaves on the cotton fields. They could see past the bigotted white slave masters and know the truth through Christ.


Mr Gordon you havent learnt everything from someone else. Your conscious would have been present prior to the knock on the door. You had a rational mind that is naturally inquisitive and questioning.

I suppose the question is who holds the 'old garment' when studing the threads created by the grand weaver..God.
