together pretty much make up an informal constitution of christianity, as evidenced by christians frequently referring to them to work out WWJD.
Also MrG, you are limiting your post to what is contained in the bible. Jesus did far more than laid out in the gospels, all you have for reference is a distillation of his words and actions. If his action in one instance is recorded, it is probable it was repeated many times.
