Fortescue Metals Group chief financial officer Michael Minosora has quit, less than nine months since joining the Andrew Forrest-run Pilbara iron ore producer.
His surprise resignation, announced this afternoon, comes at a critical time for Fortescue, which has set a deadline of next Wednesday for Chinese groups to propose a $US6 billion ($7 billion) debt package.
Mr Minosora will be replaced by Fortescue executive Fiona Barclay.
