I spent the last 20 years of my career in construction and costs went through the roof, for a myriad of reasons from labour costs to work practices and regulatory costs. Look at what labour is earning on major projects in Victoria and tell me that the poor workers have been subject to cuts. $300k a year to sit in an air conditioned cab pulling levers. Don’t mind a high wage but it has gone over the top.
