Responsible lending is LAW. If banks break the law by not lending responsibly they can be sued and contracts can be voided. I guess that’s what these people are trying to do void their loan contracts so they don’t lose ‘everything’.
I would think that the laws were passed in part to maintain financial stability and also in part to enforce their social responsibility.
