The Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection has ordered a full environmental impact statement for its project, but the company believes there may be benefits. Chief executive Simon Finnis said the order would delay the start of planned mining operations by at least six months, but Metro would use the time to maximise opportunities that accompany the EIS process.
