Its a sound stratergy Locky, but you either decreased your exposure because you now own less heads then you did options. So you get less reward.
OR
If you literally came up with the extra 23.5c and own exactly the same number of shares, then you have increased your exposure to risk. You stand to lose more if things go wrong.
