If it was cut and dried the Court could have made a simple affirmation of a finding and course already put forward to it or a quick judgement with orders that could be said at the time.
In my experience the Court is still waiting to decide perhaps what to do after reviewing all the submitted evidence or waiting for something else perhaps to happen (eg: just slowing things down to give a party a chance to come up with something before a final judgement is set down).
Who knows in the end? Only the Judge knows.......
