We'll just have to wait for the next announcement - I'd be surprised if we could pursue compensation as there's no guarantees given as such but it's interesting that the environmental impact assessment was approved so there are probably grounds to appeal the ruling.
Surely there must be ways to get around the problems identified by the Court - maybe a speed limit of 5k/h through the villages and I'm sure if you offered the reindeer herders a 1% royalty they'd tell the Court to approve the permit - maybe even a similar royalty to the village communities to compensate them for the inconvenience.
