KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has rejected the injunction application by Lynas against SMSL Sdn Bhd and five others from publishing defamatory statement against it.
Justice John Louis O'Hara awarded RM5,000 in costs to the defendants.
In an endorsement of claim filed on April 19, Lynas named SMSL and its two directors Tan Bun Teet and Lim Sow Teow as defendants.
Lynas Corporation Ltd and Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd claimed that the defendants published defamatory statements against them through its article titled "Civil Society Organisation's joint statement on Lynas issue: SMSL & NGOs statement against Lynas", dated March 22.
