Liquidity is one of the big issues, and yes the US has better liquidity, although I tend to stick with stocks where I understand the business.

Not sure I would feel comfortable writing calls based soley on a chart pattern, without a good understanding of the business they are in and where they are positioned in comparison to their peers.

The US is just another steep learning curve.

Having said this, lots of people just trade the chart patterns. Its just that I don't feel comfortable at just that level.

Lots of great data provider sites in the US that simplify the selection process. Pity our market is not big enough to make those sort of operations viable in Oz, on Oz Stocks.
