I’m a holder so I want this stock to go up. I say that up front because it seems anyone who questions the fast and strong recovery of WEB is downrampimg or at least negative. I’m not either. I bought for the long term, 1-2 years time frame. I’m now reevaluating and expect to take a mighty hit.
I’ve been in Turkey for the past 9 months. Returned to Sydney last week and am writing from hotel quarantine. The photo is from Istanbul Airport at 2pm last week. Istanbul Airport is a major hub for travel to Middle East, Europe and beyond. The picture speaks for itself. Turkey opened its borders on 1 July. So much for pent-up demand reflecting in tourist arrivals and departures.
Europe will restart hard lockdowns soon. It has already started in many EU countries and the escalation of Covid cases guarantees the others will follow. The travel stats for the entire region are very bad. The talk of WEB being a great business with a positive future after Covid finishes relies on... well, Covid finishing. Draw your own conclusions
