I will agree that Jinping conspired with his jackboots to keep the danger secret from his people but he also deliberately withheld crucial information from Trump and the rest of the world..

The way I see it Trump believed it was starting to come under control so tried to get people in America not to panic about it. How would panic help?

Yes he probably could have worded things better but it is still a long way from being a deliberate attempt to deceive his people like Jinping did.
