@Dave R; aside from visits by regional Victorians to Melbourne, the number of Melburnians who flooded into regional Victoria during the school holidays and prior to the initial declaration of 'hot spots' seemed destined to spread the coronavirus - of course, many of them also travelled deep into NSW.
Locally in Albury three people from a family wherein one visited Melbourne tested positive - prompting Berijiklian to express alarm about the virus crossing the NSW-Vic border.
Until the lockdown Beechworth, some 40kms from the border, was swarming with tourists from both interstate and from Melbourne. In Albury-Wodonga car parks were in rare short supply so that many locals here have already gone into hibernation in anticipation that there are carriers in our midst and knowing only too well that we may yet find ourselves in a similar position to Melburnians.
