The notion that a vaccine negates the need for rapid testing is so unscientific, it is becoming a strangely repetitive notion to discuss the need of the parallel rollout over and over to silence those simpllicstic notions.

Biden emphazises the investment in a massive testing program in conjunction with vaccination.
This testing will be with us for years and helps with vaccines to open borders, allow International travel to come back.


I would also recommend to read up oncluster 5 news from the North of Denmark, a fith mutation of the virus among Mink populations which has spread widely back to humans.
That mutation is throwing serious doubt over effectivemess of existing vaccination plans as the protein structure has changed to such a degree that it renders effectiveness of our current vaccine frontrunners down to 20% or similar results.

We still have no idea how long immunisation will remain in place after vaccination.
Antibodies after infection disappear within 3 months. Antibodies after vaccination seem to stay double its length, but yet no proof of that.

There are also many percentages of population in the US and here in OZ who will not trust a vaccine and will not get the shoots.
That will contribute to a slow rollout and slower achievement of herd imminuty, which might remain wishful thinking with the virus mutating in animal populations around the planet ( as it did in the Mink ) and then reenter human populations.

Those who already had COVID seem NOT immune to the Mink version of cluster 5 in Denmark.
Similar breakouts of those mutations have been reported in Holland, Spain, US, Sweden and Italy.


I would appreciate to refrain from simplistic views when it comes to COVID, the outgoing president in the US pays a heavy price, and so does the entire population of the US, for simplifying and underestimating this virus.
