the one thing I feel I've learned following biotech companies is how the trial process is not all I thought it was. I remember thinking it couldn't be harmful taking certain medications for long term as they would have thoroughly tested all that. Now I realise probably the main thing never tested is the long term effect of a drug. If it gets through the three stages of trials it goes to market. if problems develop 5 years later they are addressed separately. I am being cynical but I'm guessing if there are problems down the track we wouldn't even hear about it unless they were serious and in large numbers that cannot be avoided. Makes things very interesting when deciding what medications to take.
