    1. there's no link to whatever dubious site you pulled this from --

    2. we've got nothing there to say what Nicholas Wade said - only what some dubious site said he said

    3.

"No one has found the bat population that was the source of SARS2, if indeed it ever infected bats. No intermediate host has presented itself, despite an intensive search by Chinese authorities that included the testing of 80,000 animals."

Does that not potentially suggest that they might be looking in entirely the wrong location - perhaps the wrong country??????

"There is no evidence of the virus making multiple independent jumps from its intermediate host to people, as both the SARS1 and MERS viruses did."

Exactly what you would expect to find if you were looking in the wrong country.

What do we think Nicolas would think about ---

    a. the fact that the earliest reports come from Italy

    b. Italy has bats in caves by the millions

    c. Italy has a choice of hosts for intermediate jump

    d. Italians pride themselves on eating wild foods

    e. Italians eat coypu - one of the few species that is a known carrier of these kinds of virus

    f. one look at a case map of the world centres the numbers smack bang on Italy

    g. no one has bothered to look there

what would Nicholas have to say about that do you think????
