The .20c listing price and MC was decided long before covid19 ... If covid19 didn't happen, i reckon current price would have been between .25 and .35 considering the market for HIV tests was evaluated at 4-5 billions. RDT is the new way to scale up testing in many parts of the world. Covid19 has just made the potential revenue much bigger for this kind of rapid and cheap tests... antibody tests would evolve to differentiate between flu & covid for example so you'd know what vaccine to get 'this' year. I wonder if would be possible to redesign the device for a fast swab test that gives you results if you're actually infected or not ... That would be a game changer.
