yes... charge per scan could be issue, however, if enough margins for the hospital why not? private MRI is charged to patient A$750, medicare pays little over half, the rest is out of pocket.... their margin who knows... For 4Dx, say USA hospitals will do a chest x-ray anyhow, US$120 charge to the patients and then via XV LVAS another US$175, so total revenue (cost to the patient is) US$295, still cheaper than CT US$525, and 4Dx with better diagnostic data and 100x less radiation!
So for the hospital, what is the profit? using 4Dx ($120 xray + say $100 XV = $220: 4Dx receives $75 with 90% margin) Vs pushing patience to CT scan instead... that is question and conflict interest for hospital Vs standard of care dilemma... i am sure any government funded care will look at it and assess XV LVAS Vs CT cost in their healthcare budget!!!
