The UN has done very little to earn any respect. Just a bunch of impotent bureaucrats and corrupt ex-politicians with their snouts in the trough IMO.
No need to spend more on developing alternatives to oil, that work is well advanced. The oil companies are ready to make the switch when oil really starts to become scarce in another forty years or so.
Kyoto is greenie bulldust, there is no human induced global warming taking place.
