When I was on the farm, we had chooks that free ranged all day and were locked up at night, the egg yolks were bright orange in colour, I took some to my girlfriend (now my wife) and she thought that there was something wrong with them because she had never seen eggs like that before.
Until recently we have been able to buy some pasture raised eggs where they have mobile chook houses but unfortunately, they went out of business because it was uneconomical. Can't get any good eggs now.
I read years ago that the Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio of caged eggs is 1 to 44, the pasture raised egg ratio is 1 to 4.
