I asked her what she wanted to do when she left school and she said I want to go to uni to get some good qualifications and then i'm coming to live with you. I was divorced at that time and both her and my son spent equal time with their mother and then with me which was unusual in those days. After she said that we started searching for a suitable property and one that would be big enough to keep a horse on for her. Just before she died she didn't want to leave and go to her mum's but I made her go because that was the arrangement and she never came back.

I'll shut up now because it was a long time ago and we all have our cross to bear in this often crappy life.

You were lucky to have the doctor stay with you by the sounds of it. Without him and his wife to help you probably wouldn't have made it.

From that book and also the others you can make sense of these things when nothing else works. We are connected to the spirit world and part of us remains there so that when you were under extreme stress that could have been transmitted to your mother through that connection. I also wonder if we might have the ability to communicate in a telepathic way and used to rely on it as hunter gatherers to sense danger in others including animals. I've seen reports that strongly suggest the Aborigines had that ability before their lives changed so much they had less need for it, like us but it still might kick in for extreme circumstances?

Another thing that book shows is that there is no need to fear death because it's actually the end of the crazy pantomime we chose for ourselves and we go home. A bit like being in the simulation area on the Enterprise and getting so caught up in the reality of it that when it's turned off and the door opens it's a shock but ours is deeper and much longer, usually.

@sierra - Please forgive for butting in, but I am a newcomer to this thread, but having read of your daughter and the closeness you shared, I feel I have to congratulate you first of all, that you did have such closeness - it is rare - and myself having lost first a husband now 30 years ago and 3 1/2 years ago a daughter, and I couldn't be with her, nor attend her funeral due to Covid (and she had lived her life in England), I have an inkling of what loss means; you have my deepest sympathy and I congratulate you that you have such a hopeful outlook of perhaps meeting up with your daughter again.
I have no such thing, but have experienced extraordinary things when each of 'my' deaths occurred. I believe we are capable of transcending our lives here on earth, even whilst living, but in this extraordinary state brought on by soul trauma, we catch a glimpse of what could be, might be another dimension. I am not afraid of death, because firstly it is a commonplace where all living things end up in, and, secondly, nature/God, maybe our souls know how to do it, do the transition in such a way that we will welcome it, when it happens. Birth, death are in the nature of living things, it is the great merry-go-round of life we are all on.

I see the love I had for both, my husband, and my daughter often extended to me by other people, sometimes strangers - but first of all, I think, it has made me kinder, more hopeful, more expectant of each new day to bring something beautiful, some enlightenment. I owe it to be beloved dead to live what little is left of my life to the full and preserve their memory.

Of course, watching the news of the world my words sound hollow, I know, but we can only do our best within our geographical limitations.
