But you are correct that getting the vaccine will NOT stop you from getting Covid some months down the track.
I have spoken to 3 doctors and they all said the same thing.
These vaccines have been approved for Emergency use only (the situation we are in).
And its ultimate objective is to lessen the severe symptoms of Covid (leading to death) when you are infected by it.
It does not prevent you from getting it again.
This virus is mutating very fast. The vaccines they produced some 7 months ago are now out of date. This is seen by the third wave that the world is experiencing at the moment.
In desperation, medical researchers are currently exploring ways to combine existing vaccines together, to treat the mutated virus.
This virus will not be under control until well into 2022.
We are very fortunate that we live on an island. Fingers crossed we won't get the Brazilian variant here.

Well, what about those who cant get vaccinated for various reasons? I thought they were the reason the rest of us had to take the vaccine -> to protect them via herd immunity?
