Lots of fake news sites, like gateway pundit for instance, grab an actual fact from someone else's work and then put their own spin on it by excluding important information/context and adding their ideological narrative to lead to readers to an unwarranted conclusions. If you feel any fact checkers are telling porkies I'm sure you could do your own analysis/review of the facts and challenge them.
