    Your analogy is not how the situation was presented broadly.
    If over a century period there was 1-2 years that driving your car gave you a 5% chance of death, then no, most people would not drive during that period.

    The issues were the stats for both infection rates and the mortality rates were drastically misrepresented. We also implemented poor protection strategies for the most vulnerable while destroying the economic machine which produces goods and services that are critical.

    Still at this point patient care is suffering because of hospital staffing problems with isolation rules and limited access to rapid PCR testing in most health services. Mandates were also used without providing robust evidence or mechanisms of appeal. Ultimately why many nations are now toppling them in the courts, the hysteria has reduced so sense is being considered. Governments must be accountable for the rules they impose and ‘follow the science’ is not a substitute for ‘here is the science’.
