In sorting out the contradictions from your physician, it might assist to consider that your (presumably) long-serving family doctor was happy enough to sit down with you, give you the spiel and then inject you with your 'informed consent' when he was protected by a liability shield, but has become so concerned in the intervening period that he is now informing you with different information under the threat of deregistration. Ceteris paribus, would you prefer to accept advice given without fear of repercussion, or advice given on pain of retribution?
