I've pointed this (and similar conflicts) out to a number of people, and the majority of the time people will respond with

"meh ... so what, he knows his stuff"

These same people would most likely have been up in arms when Eddie Maguire was involved in every facet of the AFL. But outside of sport, when if comes to medical safety and propriety, they see no issue. Society is dumb and lazy... the people attacking society aren't dumb, therein lies our problem.
