No? Why say no when most say yes. The question should also be raised - why not??

    https://awarenessact.com/why-it-is-so-hard-for-some-people-to-just-say-no/

    Excerpt:

A lot of people seem to struggle with saying no because they are people who feel the need to be liked or happen to seek approval from others. While they may not want to do something, they feel they have to or that they need another means of declining because they don’t want the person to think differently of them.

Yep, that pretty much covers it but perhaps there's a little bit more:

    https://openup.com/blog/saying-no/

    Excerpt:

We’d rather not say no to other people because we want everyone to think we’re nice. In addition, we prefer to avoid confrontations and conflict, we don’t want to hurt other people’s feelings and we don’t want to disappoint people by saying no. Finally, we live in a society that places an emphasis on saying “yes”, where you don’t want to miss any opportunities to get the most out of our lives and careers.

Thus beware, by saying no, you upset the applecart. Can't have that now, or can we?? No, of course not.

Yet oddly, there are so many rules and regulations where 'no' or punitive else is a given. Funny that. Guess it depends who is dishing up.
