A quick scan of this study exposed a few obvious flaws which have not been addressed.
Firstly, what are the PCR cycle thresholds used for SARS-CoV-2 testing of both the vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts?
Why don’t they disclose the Ct values for each cohort? Without this key information the efficacy results are meaningless.
Secondly, and regarding the more important issue of safety, just like the recent study out of Israel which was also widely promoted as showing vaccine efficacy in a real-world situation, this study only shows results of SARS-CoV-2 infection. What about all-cause health outcomes of the vaccinated compared to the unvaccinated?
Let’s see the data comparing deaths and hospitalisations from all causes of those vaccinated compared to the unvaccinated during the study period. This is the only way to show real-world short-term safety of the vaccines (long-term safety of course won’t be known for several years yet). If the data supported safety they would be spruiking this loudly too! Why won’t they release this crucial safety data? What are they also hiding?
