And yet it is rolled out anyway? However the same rationale when applied to HCQ (an uncontentious treatment for all of the last 70 odd years except for the last 12 months) was enough to see doctors around the world ridiculed, silenced and, in some cases, having their licences revoked for prescribing its use.

Of course that has all changed and now, amongst other things, that Trump has gone, it is permissable for major bodies(AMA, WHO) to concede that such cheap alternatives exist and have largely helped in a lot of covid cases. However, there is not too much promotion of that concession, we wouldn't want to jeopardise the rollout of the first global human mRNA experiment by giving people a cheap, safe and established alternative. That would never do in this newly established nutty world.

I have never denied that alternative treatments may work. I have a stock of zinc, chloroquine, and betadine gargle which you can also snort thru the nose. I also have N95 masks and eyewear intended for use while shopping if there is transmission in the community. I am aware that ocean water is full of predatory virus and bacteria so swim daily. i have never had a flu shot and don't intend to start now.
None of the above is proven effective imo, but it is maybe better than the alternative being the vax.
I expect people to have enough respect for others and not leave home when sick and to also wear a mask in public when there is community transmission.
