The masks worked - they demonstrated how many could be convinced to wear one even though the science proved otherwise. It gave a fair representation of how many people are really switched on, and those that are lacking in a fundamental education. They did get an astonishingly high level of compliance which speaks volumes of the apathy of the general population when it comes to their own health and well-being.
