    Sure, an immune response is garnered by giving a weakened version in some vaccine types eg smallpox.

    Suggest a reading of what things were like before its development were like - same for polio and same for Whooping cough. These were properly tested of cours ein the normal scientific fashion rather than rushed by an anxious govt.
