Making a conclusion based on insufficient evidence under confirmation bias is an extremely common human failing. Ignoring scientists pointing this sort of thing out has resulted in great tragedies over and over. It is basically 'feelings' over riding logic.

One example is the Challenger rocket explosion. They were behind schedule and under pressure to launch. One scientist spoke up saying they should delay as there was a problem with the rubber used under cold temperatures. The head honchoes ignored him as they wanted to launch. He tried again politely a second time. They still ignored him. With lives at risk, he kept trying and got angrier and angrier, so they sacked him and launched anyway. Of course, we saw what happened when the rubber seals failed due to becoming brittle in the cold temperatures. He did not get his job back and no one was jailed let alone prosecuted for the negligence.

    Logic matters.

Feelings over riding same results in big problems including necessary deaths.

    Just one example.
