That's always been the case but vaccines dampen the effects of covid and keep more out of hospital.
That is what covid vaccines were designed to do.
Why are unvaxxed many times more likely to end up in hospital?
Keeping unvaxxed away from both vaxxed and unvaxxed is a control measure keeping cased down.
