I think the data coming out of the UK points to the fact that the vaccs probably have a very small degree of efficacy - barely worth the effort.
What we have is a disaster created by medical science (gain of function experiments), with medical science trying to find an answer.
Looks like we'll be waiting for the virus to burn itself out. Same as we did during the plague and Spanish flu.
