Most of the world has moved on. Yet our country, being one of the highest vaccinated, is still playing the mask and shame game.
If the vaccine worked this wouldn’t be necessary. If the vaccine didn’t work, this wouldn’t be necessary.
I was at Sydney domestic airport the other day dropping off my mum. About 30% were wearing masks voluntarily. At the gate, a ticket checker, masked, checked my mums ticket and told my mum to “pop” her mask on as it will be required from that point on. I couldn’t help myself and yelled out “yeah mum, put your mask on you might kill someone” to which some in the crowd laughed, the stewardess behind the ticket checker roared with laughter and the ticket checker gave me daggers.
Isn’t it about time a scientific debate was had as to the merits of wearing useless protection to complement a useless vaccination for a mild flu?
