your main point is the anxiety. and on this we certainly agree. anxiety during such a lethal pandemic is to be expected. imo the people who want to disrupt the management of the pandemic, for whatever reason, have deepened the anxiety.
there were such detractors when HIV became an issue too with some claiming that only gays could be infected. there was so much disinformation that some even today refer to AIDS, the AutoImmune Deficiency Syndrome, rather than the virus as the disease. there remain some who still post that its a gay disease.
does this justify any of the beliefs about HIV? Average Joe has been misled by malicious actors imo..... but to each their own.
