I always had a favourite Jockey in the last race at Ascot.
He had a better than 50% strike rate over my Heavy gambling period and paid good dividends on a regular basis.
A good ten years after I kicked my joy of punting I walked into a pub in Subiaco while waiting for my daughter to finish a ballet class (it was St Pat’s Day) and while I was wondering around the establishment I noticed the TAB screens and Me Old Friend/Jockey was in the last race at Ascot.
Ten each way went on and Knuckey did it again!

I have had 2 Punts at the TAB since and lost each time but that’s not bad because the daughter hasn’t done ballet for a good 5 years.
Puntings a mugs game but it’s heaps of fun if you can afford to lose the cash.
