Just finished reading an incredibly sad Facebook post from US friends in Evanston Illinois, commemorating the life of a young woman who just died. One commented that, "I have seen more friends pass in the last 5 months than in my entire life".
That's just hearsay of course, it's not data. Looking at the data for Sweden, I just want to repeat the bleeding obvious for anyone who knows that country.
The recent data is for a country in a sort of traditional lockdown. It's called the summer holidays. It goes 6 to 8 weeks and ended around 14-21 August. The cities emptied of much activity, and people went to the country and their summer houses, socially isolating with family. That's what Swedes do at this time of year.
In November we'll have a better idea what's happening there.

Given it’s an annual thing, it doesn’t inform the number of deaths over that 8 week period this year running between 6% to 11% lower than the previous 5 years.
