It seems that it's lethality has dropped precipitously although, personally, I believe it was always overstated provided people didn't do stupid things, which they did.
Some will know that Mrs H has been in full-time care now for some time. They take covid seriously there with staff and visitors doing regular RATs. I, also regularly, get emails on the status of infections in the different wings and precautions that are to be taken. A casual enquiry about the outcomes of covid on the individuals infected [no relationship to me] would not be well received but y'day I got the call to say my Lady is infected which gave me a reason to ask about prognosis. I was told she is a-systematic and isolation is likely to be 5 days. Really??? She is aged and frail, barely 50kgs and will not be taken to hospital. This is a far cry from 5 yrs ago when you were told to get your affairs in order if you were over 60 and got infected. [OK. I exaggerate a little]
Could the RAT be spotty with false +ve and -ve results?
