Pretty simple, the Italian scientists are saying where it originated from and hence not afraid to go back in time to see when first cases in Italy arrived. It is what you do when you are in a democratic, open and transparent country seeking to understand things. As is the USA and Europe. The graph simply shows how quickly a virus can spread.
China is a closed, communist that loves to 'save face'. They have no transparency and therefore spend more time hiding the truth than seeking the truth. A country that doesn't mind human violations as well btw and not to be put up as a poster child. As I said, this debate will be easy to resolve if the Chinese did exactly what the Italians did and did blood testing well back from the date of first detected transmission been December 2019 for China and February 2020 for Italy (and obviously the Italian study is saying it was there earlier). But the Chinese do not want to do that so you have false data is what you are showing, full stop, and the Italian authors of the report have stated their views in their enterity, not some selected basis of views.
Does anyone believe that graph as well as it relates to China and others where the Chinese basically are stated globally to have hidden their COVID numbers and the Chinese do not allow open access to their country for scientists/WHO to have tested their views.
If anything what the data shows is how a communist dictatorship closes shop and hides the truth compared to democratic countries. I'll leave it at that because every graph you put up will be skewed because the Chinese data is false to start with. COVID appears to spread more fully in countries where your populations live on top of each other - i.e. especially cities with high densities. Whole web pages have been dedicated to China's misleading information.

This thread started with your view COVID19 started in Italy and you put up an Italian report. I put up extracts from the authors reports/views themselves which stated the authors are saying COVID started much much much earlier, and their view it still started in China. Refer back to first paragraph above - it is pretty simple - we will never know the truth about China because we need more scientific work in China. If China believed it started elsewhere, I'll put it this way they would move heaven and earth to allow every investigator around access to relevant documents to prove the point. Why haven't they, if Chinese culture is about 'saving face'..
You can keep putting up what you like, but China's non-openness makes everything that will be put upas "Statistics, Damned Statistics and Lies"
The irony of what you are doing is the inverse to our right wing friends on this board - 97% of the world's scientists state climate change is man made, and this forum basically yabbers the views of the 3%. Using this democratic countries say COVID originated in China (including the Italian authors of that report) and the Chinese are saying no it didn't (without giving evidence to prove otherwise or access to their country).
I'll leave it that as not worth debating further.
