it is more than possible that Chinese were in Lombardy at the time the first cases showed up in Italy -- then, carried it back to China - Whuan in particular is a major hub - then, went off to Egypt in a trade delegation
all very speculative of course - but, possible - particularly since Italy joined the Silk Road only in March 2019 - there would have been a lot of travel between the two nations after that.

People can rave on all they like about China - but, this map is very very very very hard to dismiss -------------- if you were looking at bushfires - you'd be sending trucks by the dozen to Italy and France etc. - you'd ring China and ask - have you got a hose and a bucket ---
