My understanding is that Zinc interferes with the ability of the virus to replicate within the lung cells but for zinc to get inside the cells it needs the Hydroxy to open the gate. The belief from the Dr is that this combo buys time for the humans natural healing system to kill the virus, the Amycin is used to help keep at bay bacterial infections that may occur due to the lungs being damaged by the virus.
