Vitamins will only be utilised in accordance with bodily functions - overdosing IS possible

If you use more than the body usually uses, it then no longer functions as a vitamin, but in a pharmacological sense, which can cause harm.

    Famous cases

    Overdose of Vitamin A

...and this is just with dietary levels, well shy of supplemental levels:

What they could not have realised was that they had been slowly poisoning themselves – dogs' livers contain toxic levels of vitamin A. Mawson and Mertz suffered extreme exhaustion and their hair started falling out. By 7 January, Mertz was too ill to eat or drink without help. He suffered violent seizures and bouts of insanity. Soon after, he fell into a fever and died in his sleep.

    Overdose of Vitamin E
Tested by "the establishment", but failed.

Furthermore, a 2005 study by a team of researchers at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions attempted to demonstrate that vitamin E supplements could help treat cardiovascular disease and cancer. Instead, the team found that taking high doses of vitamin E increased the mortality rate during the study period for cardiovascular disease and cancer patients. The researchers concluded that large doses of vitamin E should be avoided. They published their results in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine.

    That's why you need testing
    Peer reviewed

...and not experiment blindly with unwilling patients
